The year is 1997 and the big flood is approaching Wrocław. As a psychiatric hospital is being evacuated, a young doctor Konstanty Grot (Borys Szyc) accompanies a catatonic (Grzegorz Wolf) to an evacuation coach. The patient, Płocki, cannot communicate with anyone and does not respond to any attempts to contact him. When the coach starts, he suddenly waves goodbye to the doctor using a gesture typical of Grot’s recently deceased father. Kostek is so agitated that he resolves to find out who the patient is, but it turns out that Płocki’s medical record has vanished without a trace. The psychiatrist decides to employ an unconventional treatment of the mysterious patient in order to uncover his identity. At the same time he starts a private investigation into the mystery. He gradually discovers the terrifying circumstances which make the treatment possibly futile.
