Summertime is meant for adventures, travelling, and using imagination. But it is even beyond little Jagoda to think that her imagination combined with the temper of her grandpa Jeremi will take them as far as to a meeting with a dragon! We invite you to take part in a very special family screening of the film ‘Dziadku, wiejemy!’ directed by Olga Chajdas, after which there is an open meeting with the film director and the leading actor Jan Peszek.
In her heart-warming story, Olga Chajdas mixes family cinema with a road movie, an adventure film, and fantasy. Scenes shot with fantastically written and played human characters are mixed with animated sequences. But even when the dragon finally manifests itself on the screen, the filmmakers do not lose sight of the most important thing - and that is the very special relationship between grandpa Jeremi (played by the remarkable Jan Peszek), his granddaughter Jagoda (Anna Nowak), and her mother Marta (Agnieszka Grochowska), who is trying to adapt to the new situation. The film got a certification of Zespół Edukatorów Filmowych (Team of Film Educators).
When we meet Jeremi for the first time, he is a resident in a retirement home. The die-hard grandpa is still capable of causing quite an uproar, though. Right now, he is one crazy idea away from being put in a mental asylum. His daughter Marta decides to save him, despite being fully aware that having him under the same roof will be a pain. Jeremi is also aware of that, and refuses to move in with his daughter. And this is when his granddaughter Jagoda steps in. She takes her grandpa for a crazy trip on board of the legendary ship The Light of the Sea, during which they will try to escape a bunch of villains, the mother, and... a dragon!
You can come as a family to see the film and meet Olga Chajdas and Jan Peszek, after the screening.
